Why help?

Because Legal Aid matters.

Legal Aid Society puts equal justice into action.  Because of Legal Aid attorneys, families will stay in their homes; survivors of domestic or sexual violence will reclaim their power; Veterans will receive the benefits for which they made sacrifices; and Kentuckians will get a second-chance at a more prosperous future.  Every day at Legal Aid Society, an ordinary American is pursuing their rights and seeking justice because of the generosity of donors like you.

Over 170,000 Kentuckians in Legal Aid’s fifteen county service area are income eligible for Legal Aid’s assistance, with 70% having at least one unmet civil legal issue in a given year, and many face more than one.  Their issues aren’t trivial.  They are about their families and homes and incomes. These statistics are staggering, especially considering that the need is far greater than the resources.

WHILE THE PROBLEMS ARE BIG, THE SOLUTIONS ARE POSSIBLE.

This is what equal justice looks like.
